Welcome to Horsham Cycling

flypass.jpg

Our club is welcoming to all types of rider, from leisure cyclist to competitive racer. Seven groups meet at the Carfax every Sunday morning, each with different speeds and distances in mind.

Horsham is surrounded by fantastic Sussex countryside and quiet roads. The club is a great way of discovering new routes, making friends and perhaps opening yourself to new cycling challenges.

You can join us for a ride or two without being a member, why not give us a try? See the rides page for more details.

Mike Carr Social Groups' Downhill Trophy - 12 July - Report.

downhill2015All 21 social group riders successfully launched themselves down the hill and finished before the heavy showers added an extra dimension in this annual event. We enjoyed watching the riders squeeze every last drop of momentum from their bikes.

The results were as follows:-

1. Philip van der Veen, 2. Colin Curryer, 3. Kevin Moden. First Lady, Ellen Parry.

Well done to everyone taking part including guests. Many thanks to Colin Ferry for managing the start line and Stewart Forbes with me at the finish.

Congratulations to all our winners. We will be presenting the awards at the Christmas Dinner and Awards evening on Thursday 10 December at The Warnham Barn, Rookwood Golf Club and we look forward to seeing you there.

Another great HC event.

Mike Carr Social Groups' Downhill Trophy - Sunday 12 July.

This will take place on Grinder's Lane/Honeybridge Lane, Dial Post starting at the top of the hill after the Old Barn Nursery. Stewart Forbes and I will organise this year's event.

The event will be part of the normal Social 1 and 2 rides and open to all recognised Social Group riders. The Ride Leaders, Debbie Bingham and Colin Ward, will take their rides there with the event commencing around 10.15. I will explain the rules of combat prior to the start. As usual each rider will be allowed one pedal stroke then freewheeling only and the person covering the greatest distance is the winner. There will be plaques for the first three riders covering the greatest distance and a separate Ladies plaque for the furthest Lady member. If anyone has any queries please email me but I hope as many of our ever increasing Social members as possible will take part to make it a memorable year.
