Welcome to Horsham Cycling

Our club is welcoming to all types of rider, from leisure cyclist to competitive racer. Seven groups meet at the Carfax every Sunday morning, each with different speeds and distances in mind.

Horsham is surrounded by fantastic Sussex countryside and quiet roads. The club is a great way of discovering new routes, making friends and perhaps opening yourself to new cycling challenges.

You can join us for a ride or two without being a member, why not give us a try? See the rides page for more details.

Depart from Dunwich around 08.00 Sunday after having a full English breakfast in the cafe by the sea, returning to Horsham late morning. The transport cost is £40.

Mike Carr Social Groups' Downhill Trophy Sunday 6th July 2014.

This will take place on Grinder's Lane/Honeybridge Lane, Dial Post starting at the top of the hill after the Old Barn Nursery. Mike Cross has agreed to organise again this year, ably assisted by multiple past winner Philip van der Veen.

The event will be part of the normal Social 1 and 2 rides and open to all recognised Social Group riders. The Ride Leaders, Alan Eakins and Philip, will take their rides there with the event commencing around 10.15. Mike will explain the rules of combat prior to the start. As usual each rider will be allowed one pedal stroke then freewheeling only and the person covering the greatest distance is the winner. There will be plaques for the first three riders covering the greatest distance and a separate Ladies plaque for the furthest Lady member. If anyone has any queries please let me know but I hope as many of our ever increasing Social members as possible will take part to make it a memorable year.

Peter Delve, Chairman.

New Forest Weekend 17/18 May 2014 - Report

16 cyclists enjoyed superb weather whilst staying at Lyndhurst.

Kevin Crump, Paul Detain and Alan Dolan completed the 100 mile ride from Horsham on the Friday incorporating four ferries – Hayling Island to Southsea, Portsmouth to Gosport, Warsash to Hamble and Southampton to Hythe.

Organised Social and Intermediate rides took place on Saturday and Sunday. Mike and Justin from the New Forest Cycling Club very kindly led the Intermediate riders. With an extra Saturday morning cycle at Swanage, Paul Detain managed to clock up 200 miles in three days.

Full report will appear in June Chain Line, which will be issued later this month.

Photographs are now in the Gallery section of the website.

Thank you to Dave Scott for organising this successful trip.
