Welcome to Horsham Cycling

flypass.jpg

Our club is welcoming to all types of rider, from leisure cyclist to competitive racer. Five groups meet at the Carfax every Sunday morning, each with different speeds and distances in mind.

Horsham is surrounded by fantastic Sussex countryside and quiet roads. The club is a great way of discovering new routes, making friends and perhaps opening yourself to new cycling challenges.

You can join us for a ride or two without being a member, why not give us a try? See the rides page for more details.

Bad Pothole on Horsham - Crawley 10 (Course G10/57)

Now temp repaired as at 6/6/10!!

Warning - There is currently a deep pothole at precisely the distance from the kerb that a sensible bike rider would choose to travel.

The location is on the eastbound carriageway of the A264 about halfway between the landfill site entrance and the Roundabout to the M23

If this hole is hit at  high speed it could have you off. As you approach, it is relatively invisible due to its shape which is triangular, each side 8 inches and about 3inches deep.

Our guest rider on the club TT the other night hit the hole and manged to control the bike. However he did crack an expensive rim. This hazard has been reported.

5 years young!

5thanniversary.jpg

Horsham Cycling has just celebrated it's 5th anniversary in style. Following our normal Sunday run members wined and dined in glorious spring sunshine at the Sussex Barn on Rookwood golf course.

During our five years we've collectively ridden a distance equivalent to 2500 laps of the M25 or 230,000,000 wheel revolutions! We've enjoyed the Sunday rides, the racing, social events and weekends away - whilst making friends, keeping fit and having fun. Many things have changed during this time and the membership has grown significantly, but our motto remains unchanged - cycling for all.

The Clubs First Event of the Season

As the time trail season gets going a number of members have already ridden in some open events.

Our first Club event on Saturday 10th April 2010 is the 14.8 hilly sporting course Faygate - Newdigate loop. (GS/189)
at 2pm.

Members should arrive at Faygate about 1.30pm to allow time for signing on etc. Entry fee is still £2.50.

Members that have not ridden a time trial before should have a go. You do not have to be super fast, but once you have done one, you then have a target to set yourself to improve your time for the next you ride on that same course.
We are here to support you and give you advice.

You can pre-register by sending me an email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Guests from other clubs are welcome, although if we do run out of spaces, Horsham Cycling members have priority.
