Welcome to Horsham Cycling
Our club is welcoming to all types of rider, from leisure cyclist to competitive racer. Seven groups meet at the Carfax every Sunday morning, each with different speeds and distances in mind.
Horsham is surrounded by fantastic Sussex countryside and quiet roads. The club is a great way of discovering new routes, making friends and perhaps opening yourself to new cycling challenges.
You can join us for a ride or two without being a member, why not give us a try? See the rides page for more details or read the FAQ.

Mike Carr Social Groups' Downhill Competition Sun 14 July 19
Wednesday, 03 July 2019 13:38
The annual running of this event will take place on Sunday 14th July. This is a great opportunity for a Social rider to compete for a trophy that will be awarded at the Club Dinner in December. That is of course assuming that it can be wrestled away from the hands of the current holder, Ray Watson.
The start line is on Honeybridge Lane which is to the left of the Old Barn Garden Centre. Riders will be set off at one-minute intervals and with just one half turn of the pedal, gravity will do the rest before they come to a stop on a slight incline just under a mile from the start. This is always a fun event with a good deal of support (and banter) for each rider as they try to squeeze the last inch out of their freewheel downhill.

Summer Randonnee Sunday 30th June 19
Sunday, 09 June 2019 16:18
This year our Randonee is to be held on the above date. This is more like an Audax event rather than a reliability trial where there will be no timing.
Just complete a set course passing through one or two controls (checkpoints) on the way.
There will be a choice of two rides of approximately 65km (38 miles) with one control and 90km.(55miles) with two controls.
Water and some food will be available at these controls.
90km route details https://www.strava.com/routes/13684007 (gpx) commencing at 9am.
63km route details https://www.strava.com/routes/13777925 (gpx) commencing at 9.30am
The HQ will be the Forest School Youth Wing on Compton's Lane.
The hall will be open from 8.30am
Refreshments will be available at the HQ at the end of the rides
This event will replace all of our regular Sunday rides.

This is great opportunity for members to linger and enjoy a longer moment together after the usual Sunday ride. All group leaders will finish their rides at the venue. There is plenty of space to leave the bikes and in case of uncertain weather we can be accommodated outside or inside. The venue has a licensed bar with local ales and lagers.
This is a popular event so please get your confirmation in quickly!

Special Social 10 mile Time Trial Saturday 25th May 2019
Monday, 22 April 2019 10:49
The Horsham Cycling annual Special 10 mile time trial on the Oakwood Hill – Ockley – Forest Green course. (G10/46)
We encourage everybody to have a go, particularly those who haven't raced before. The course is mainly based on country roads with low traffic levels. Please sign-on at 10:30 for the TT to start at 11am (finish midday).
Afterwards we congregate in The Punchbowl Inn (12 - 13:30) adjacent to the start where the Club provide a buffet lunch for entrants and helpers. As well as encouraging some of our Social riders to try a time trial for the first time we will again be hoping that many of our members will ride something completely different (or indeed in fancy dress. There will be prizes awarded in various categories depending on what's entered.
Previous years have shown great imagination by club members in the costumes and bikes ridden (vintage steel racing bikes, a wooden stoker on a tandem, French onion sellers, The Badger, Count Dracula, Fairy Wings, etc) look up the photos on the HC website gallery for ideas.
It would be great to have another year of outstanding entries!
Keep an eye on e.news for more information on how to enter.
