Welcome to Horsham Cycling

flypass.jpg

Our club is welcoming to all types of rider, from leisure cyclist to competitive racer. Seven groups meet at the Carfax every Sunday morning, each with different speeds and distances in mind.

Horsham is surrounded by fantastic Sussex countryside and quiet roads. The club is a great way of discovering new routes, making friends and perhaps opening yourself to new cycling challenges.

You can join us for a ride or two without being a member, why not give us a try? See the rides page for more details or read the FAQ.

Dunwich Dynamo Sat 13th / Sun 14th July 2019

This an amazing 115 mile night ride from London (Hackney) to Dunwich on the Suffolk Coast which is organised by the Southwark Cyclists.

The ride is free to enter. As in previous years we are providing transport by way of a mini bus and bike van to simplify the logistics.
We leave Horsham with minibus and bike van around 4.45pm on the Saturday evening with the ride commencing around 7.30pm from London Fields, Hackney.

We depart from Dunwich around 8am Sunday after having a full English breakfast in the cafe or pub by the sea, returning to Horsham late morning.

The transport cost this year is £49. (sorry - no refunds if you have to cancel)

There are 17 places available (on a first come first served basis) and if you wish to part in this ride please pay via the event payment button on the website homepage.

Chase the Sun - 22 June 2019

Chase the Sun is an annual challenge, held on the longest day of the year: to ride from sunrise to sunset, coast-to-coast, east-to-west. There are no rules, route-signs, medals - just ride your bike for this collective adventure!

The route is from Minster (Sheppey) to Burnham-on-Sea: 205 miles, 3000m elevation.

In 2018, four riders from Horsham Cycling took part. We had a minibus with two support drivers to provide transport from Horsham to start & finish, and to resupply with food & water en-route.

If you're interested, please let me know soon so that I can organise transport. Final cost will depend on number of riders sharing the vehicle (maybe £100 each). Read more here: https://www.chasethesun.org/info

Road racing update (January 2019)

The new road racing season has now started and we have had a few members dipping their toes already.

If you are interested in riding the Surrey League events at Dunsfold Aerodrome then you need to act soon. To do these events you will need to have completed two of the race preparation courses for novice races. There are only two of these events scheduled between now and the start of the season so remember to attend these events. They are run at a sensible pace so donít be worried about being unfit Ė the coaches are very experienced and will tailor the events to the standard of the riders present Ė they want to get you interested in racing not put you off so please donít feel like you wonít be up to the grade.
