Welcome to Horsham Cycling

Our club is welcoming to all types of rider, from leisure cyclist to competitive racer. Seven groups meet at the Carfax every Sunday morning, each with different speeds and distances in mind.

Horsham is surrounded by fantastic Sussex countryside and quiet roads. The club is a great way of discovering new routes, making friends and perhaps opening yourself to new cycling challenges.

You can join us for a ride or two without being a member, why not give us a try? See the rides page for more details or read the FAQ.

Annual General Meeting - 8th November 2018

The Club’s Annual General Meeting will be held on Thursday 8 November 2018 at the Holbrook Club on North Heath Lane, Horsham, beginning at 7.30pm. We hope you will be able to attend. The minutes of the last AGM, held on 9 November 2017 can be viewed here.

The Annual Report and Accounts for 2017/18 were circulated to members in the July 2018 edition of Chainline. You will have the opportunity to raise any questions or make any observations about the content of this report at the Annual General Meeting.

The formal business of the meeting will deal with the resolutions which are set out in this Notice, namely the election of the General Committee. Five of the current committee members are standing for re-election along with three new nominees. Three of the existing members are standing down at the end of December. You are of course at liberty to propose alternative committee members in accordance with the Club’s Constitution, which is available on the Club website. This must be done at least 14 days prior to the meeting.

We will aim to keep the official part of the evening as short as possible. After the formal part of the meeting Phil Merryweather will give a short presentation on his ‘Chase the Sun’ ride, which he completed in June alongside some other members of the Club. There will also be drinks and nibbles available and the opportunity to chat with other members.

We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible.

Dave Scott, Club Secretary
on behalf of the General Committee

Introduction to Group Riding for non-Members

[ FULLY BOOKED - more sessions planned soon. Please register your interest via  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ]

Do you enjoy riding a bike, but maybe a little nervous about cycling in a group? Horsham Cycling will be holding free 'Group Riding for Novices' sessions on Saturday 25 August and Saturday 8 September. Rides will cover around 20 miles on our quieter lanes, at a modest pace - we will not lose anyone!

All we ask is that you are already able to ride at least 10 miles confidently and safely; that you have a roadworthy road bike or hybrid; and that you wear a cycling helmet. For now we can only take those aged 18 or over, although sessions for younger riders may be offered in future.

Sessions will run from 09.30-11.30, starting and finishing at the bandstand by the Conservatory Café, Horsham Park.

Group size will need to be limited for safety reasons, so if you would like to join a session, or have any questions, please email Dave Scott at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it , making clear which date you prefer.
