Welcome to Horsham Cycling

flypass.jpg

Our club is welcoming to all types of rider, from leisure cyclist to competitive racer. Seven groups meet at the Carfax every Sunday morning, each with different speeds and distances in mind.

Horsham is surrounded by fantastic Sussex countryside and quiet roads. The club is a great way of discovering new routes, making friends and perhaps opening yourself to new cycling challenges.

You can join us for a ride or two without being a member, why not give us a try? See the rides page for more details or read the FAQ.

Introduction to Group Riding for non-Members

Do you enjoy riding a bike, but maybe a little nervous about cycling in a group? Horsham Cycling will be holding free 'Group Riding for Novices' sessions on Saturday 25 August and Saturday 8 September. Rides will cover around 20 miles on our quieter lanes, at a modest pace - we will not lose anyone!

All we ask is that you are already able to ride at least 10 miles confidently and safely; that you have a roadworthy road bike or hybrid; and that you wear a cycling helmet. For now we can only take those aged 18 or over, although sessions for younger riders may be offered in future.

Sessions will run from 09.30-11.30, starting and finishing at the bandstand by the Conservatory Café, Horsham Park.

Group size will need to be limited for safety reasons, so if you would like to join a session, or have any questions, please email Dave Scott at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it , making clear which date you prefer.

The Club’s annual Isle of Wight weekend is one of the highlights of the HC calendar and I think this will be the 13th visit the Club has made. Ali Bruce has made an excellent job of organising it for the last 3 years and on his retirement from the Committee, I’ve been requested to organise it again, which makes my 9th time. This weekend is always popular and is a great mix of riding and socialising. The plan is to travel on the Friday, stay two nights on the IOW and return on the Sunday.

Summer Randonee Sunday 5th August 2018

This year, for the first time, a Randonee is to be held on the above date. This is more like an Audax event rather than a reliability trial where there will be no timing.

Just complete a set course passing through one or two controls (checkpoints) on the way.

There will be a choice of two rides of approximately 65km (38 miles) with one control and 90km.(55miles) with two controls.

Water and some food will be available at these controls.

The Annual Horsham Cycling Lunch is to be held at the Roffey Park Institute on Sunday 24th June. This will be a BBQ buffet followed by dessert.

Payment should be made through the Club's website using PayPal - £18.70pp by 16th June.

This is great opportunity for members to linger and enjoy a longer moment together after the usual Sunday ride. All group leaders will finish their rides at the venue. There is plenty of space to leave the bikes and in case of uncertain weather we can be accommodated outside or inside. The venue has a licensed bar with local ales and lagers.

This is a popular event so please get your confirmation in quickly!

It's just a month until this amazing 115 mile night ride from London (Hackney) to Dunwich on the Suffolk Coast which is organised by the Southwark Cyclists.

The ride is free to enter. As in previous years we are providing transport by way of a mini bus and bike van to simplify the logistics.

We leave Horsham around 4.45pm on the Saturday evening with the ride commencing around 7.45pm. The depart from Dunwich is around 8am Sunday after having a full English breakfast in the cafe by the sea, returning to Horsham late morning.

The transport cost this year is £49.

There are 18 places available (on a first come first served bases) and if you wish to part in this ride please pay via the event payment button on the  right handside of this web page.
