About Racing

TTmiranda.jpg The Club runs many time trial events over the summer on local courses. Time trials are a simple test of your fitness against the clock. It's a great way to set personal challenges and provide focus to training, irrespective of fitness level. Our Club events are open to all members from all groups, plus guests from local clubs if space allows. Most races are club oriented, but we also organise open events which are advertised nationally and attract strong fields. Guidelines for preparing and riding for one of our time trials can be found here

The Club TT season is mainly shared between two courses, a fast 10 mile course on the A264 Horsham/Crawley dual carriageway, and a hillier 14.06 mile using quiet roads north of Faygate. The season ends with a short hill climb out of Denbies Wine Estate, Dorking. All courses can be found on the maps page.

Horsham Cycling is affiliated to the Surrey League. This allows any member of Horsham Cycling to race in any Surrey League road race. As part of this affiliation Horsham Cycling has to organize and host two events on behalf of the Surrey League. Read more about Road Racing.

For social group riders we also have a downhill / freewheeling competition, where, from a standing start, the aim is to travel as far as possible without pedalling. See the Club page for details.

Our affiliations with Cycling Time Trials, East Sussex Cycling AssociationSouthern Cycling Union and Sussex Cyclists' Association mean members can compete in time trials advertised by other clubs and Surrey Cycle Racing League for road racing.
