Club Time Trials, Hill Climb and Downhill Competitions
Each season we hold a full series of Club Time Trials including our Open Time Trial, our Hill Climb, the Social Groups' Downhill and an Inter-Club 10 in conjunction with the Dorking and Cranleigh clubs.
Our Competitions will be as follows (unless obvious to the contrary, ‘Club Members’ includes both men and women). Dates will be announced at the beginning of the season by e-news, on Spond and in ChainLine.

Veterans' Trophy
This will be awarded to the first-claim Club Veteran Member (over 40) who produces the best aggregate plus against the CTT standards for a Club 10-mile and 14.06-mile race. All Club events count plus our Open Time Trial. Veterans’ standard times will be based on their ages at 1 March 2021.
Ian Hiscock Handicap Trophy
This will be awarded to the fastest first-claim Club Member on a handicap basis. Each rider who wishes to compete for this trophy must have ridden two 10-mile races on each course (G10/46 & G10/95) before the Handicap events held on 26 July for G10/95 and 10 September for G10/46.
The Time Trial sub-committee will review the entrants' times prior to the handicap events and give each rider a separate handicap for both courses. This will mean the fastest Club rider for each course will be given Scratch (ie NO time allowance) and the slowest rider will be given a handicap time of, say +7minutes to reflect the fact that their qualifying time is 7 minutes slower than the scratch rider over the same course. All handicap allowances will be at the discretion of the competitions committee after reviewing the season's performances.
The handicap allowances will then be removed from the actual times recorded on each course and the rider with the fastest net time over both races will be declared the winner.
Of course, riders who do not want to participate in the Handicap Trophy competition may still enter the qualifying events but in the case of over- subscription, preference will be given to those who are in the running for the trophy.
Junior Trophy
This will be awarded to the first-claim Junior Club Member who produces the fastest aggregate time for a Club 10-mile and 14.06-mile race. Their times must be recorded up to the end of the year in which their 18th birthday falls. All Club events count plus our Open Time Trial.
